Course Overview

Programmable logic controller বা PLC হল একটি Digital Computer যা Electromechanical প্রক্রিয়া। যেমন ফ্যাক্টরিতে যন্ত্রপাতি (Assembly lines, Amusement rides, বা Light fixtures) নিয়ন্ত্রণ হিসাবে, Automation এর জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Industry’র কথা বলতে গেলে এখন প্রথমে আসে Automation এর কথা। Automation এর বাংলা অর্থ স্বয়ংক্রিয়তা অথবা যা নিজে নিজে স্বয়ংক্রিয় ভাবে কাজ করবে। এখন বেশিরভাগ Industry তে Automation এর জন্য যন্ত্র ব্যবহার করা হয় যার ফলে কাজের কর্মদক্ষতা অনেক ভালো পাওয়া যায় এবং উৎপাদন খরচ ও কমে যায়।
Electronics নিয়ে যারা পড়াশোনা করেন তাদের ক্ষেত্রে PLC খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটি বিষয়।
PLC একটি Device যার মাধ্যমে অতি সহজেই অন্যান্য যন্ত্র Control করা যায়, কোনও কোনও ক্ষেত্রে এটি Microcontroller এর বিকল্প হিসাবে কাজ করে। Microcontroller এবং PLC র মধ্যে পার্থক্য হল, Microcontroller এর ব্যবহার প্রোডাক্ট development এ এবং এটা industry তে ব্যাবহার করার জন্য অনেক কিছু অতিরিক্ত বিষয় থাকে, অন্যদিকে PLC ও microcontroller দিয়ে তৈরী কিন্তু এটা industry তে ব্যাবহার উপযোগী করে তৈরী, পাশাপশি অনেক বেশি নির্ভরযোগ্য।
PLC সাধারণত Microprocessor নিয়ে গঠিত যাকে Computer এর সাহায্যে Program করতে হয়। Program মূলত Computer এর Software এ লিখতে হয় এবং তা Cable এর সাহায্যে PLC তে লোড করা হয়।
